Sometimes I’m bursting with appreciation for the graphics that atheist people post on the internet. They often present Heaven-sent opportunities to tell people what God and Jesus of Nazareth (who many people believe is His Son) are all about.
This is one of those glorious opportunities. Here we go:
1. God sends NO ONE to Hell. People send themselves to Hell through the wrong things they’ve done and through the right things they’ve failed to do.
That includes kicking God out of our lives and turning our backs on His gift of Jesus.
2. Even if you ignore my first point, who says God sends everyone to Hell for having an abortion? This graphic conveniently ignores the fact of forgiveness.
Why do I call it a fact? Because Jesus is quite clear about it. One of His earliest followers wrote “if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done.”
Please note: this isn’t a scam we can pull on a dimwitted creator. This is serious business and I explain it in detail here: http://wp.me/p2wzRb-8n.
3. “Kills His only Son”. First of all, it was Roman authorities who did the killing. They were urged on by manipulative religious authorities who felt threatened by Jesus, His popularity and His disregard for their petty religious rules and regulations.
Secondly, God allowed Jesus to die because a significant part of Jesus’s mission — many people would declare it was the most important part — was to be a sacrifice that would make up for all the wrong things we’ve done and all the right things we’ve failed to do. Well, it would do that for everyone who accepts the gift of Jesus.
For the people who accept that gift, who declare Jesus to be their Lord, their Saviour and their best friend, God no longer sees our “sins”. He sees only the perfection of His Son.
Why was a death necessary? Because this “sinning” business is deadly stuff, far more lethal than most of us truly understand. And nothing we can do or say or think or pray can make up for all the wrong things we’ve done and the right things we’ve failed to do. All our efforts will always fall short. Always.
So God did the heavy lifting for us by offering the gift of His Son and His sacrifice. So carefully consider everything our culture tells you about life, about right and wrong, about how we should live and about what happens after this life ends. Does it make complete sense in light of a God that loves YOU, offers the gift of Jesus to YOU and wants YOU to spend eternity in Heaven with him?
Yes or no, post your thoughts below and let’s have a conversation.
Atheist memes are among the most childish and unintellectual things on the internet; not to say all atheists are unthinking robots but the memes that prosper are generally the ones that state something the average atheist WANTS to believe is true.
They click “Like” as unthinkingly as an elderly Christian grandmother might proclaim “Halleluiah” when told to at a Billy Graham event. They react, but they don’t think before reacting.
They put down “sheep” and yet act like sheep.
Thanks for reading and commenting. I’m with you on this. 🙂

Thanks for the response on your website and for your opinions. I’m happy to agree to disagree.
While everyone is welcome to read Frank’s Cottage material, please note that material is meant for people who are open to spirituality. 🙂
Jesus of Nazareth (if he existed) was crucified for sedition. Period.
Yes, sedition was one of the reasons Jesus was crucified.
Really? What do you consider the were the others?
With all due respect, Frank, do you think you will garner much respect with such a controversial and confrontational title?
I mean, I don’t care, but to then include this qualifier is like saying this is a blog for vegetarians and crucifying (sic) meat eaters.
Bit silly don’t you think?
Thanks for your opinion. I’m happy with the title. 🙂
Well, cool. As my father says …. what you put out you get back.
So when the midden hits the windmill, you’ll know why.
Am still interested in what you think were the other reasons for Jesus’ crucifixion, Frank.
I have been unable to find any other reason.
From the essay: “They (religious leaders) were urged on by manipulative religious authorities who felt threatened by Jesus, His popularity and His disregard for their petty religious rules and regulations.”
Yes, I saw this. Are you referring to the Temple incident?
The second example I did not bother to raise as this is a faith statement and has no real bearing.
I’m referring to the entire ministry of Jesus.
Jesus ministry lasted up to three years. Considering he walked the length and breadth of Galilee, performing miracles wherever he went , attracting huge crowds and apparently getting up the noses of many of the established religious and local authorities, why do you think the Romans showed no interest in him during the period prior to his violent outburst in the Temple during Passover week?
Just because the Bible doesn’t record it doesn’t mean the Romans showed no interest before the Passover outburst. And Jesus isn’t concerned with political matters; he’s concerned with spiritual matters. In the end, spiritual matters affect everything.
Then why do you state that he was crucified for others reasons (including) to sedition?
I stated the reasons clearly. If you or any other atheist doesn’t like those reasons, that simply cannot be my concern. Frank’s Cottage isn’t meant for atheists; it’s intended for people who are open to spirituality. How many times must I continue to state this?
Is your use of the term ”spirituality ” a euphemism for falsehood?
I understood this was a site preaching Christianity?
And surely, you are encouraged to question; to search for truth and not merely hang your hat on faith alone?
You dispute the claim he was crucified solely for sedition yet then become very vague when asked what the other reasons are.
I explained the other reasons in the essay. If they are not to your liking, I can’t do anything about it.
I was more concerned with what the evidence reveals rather than our personal opinions.
Are you not more interested in evidence?
I am more concerned with what God reveals. And since atheists believe there is no God, I don’t think we have anything further to discuss. 😦
I agree the choices of people sends them to hell. Sadly many believers have no mercy, no forgiveness, no understanding for women who have an abortion. Is abortion a sin, Yes! Can it be forgiven by God, Absolutely! The moment those women give their lives to Jesus, ask for forgiveness and obey His commands they will go to heaven!
There is only ONE sin for which there’s no forgiveness: “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy [every evil, abusive, injurious speaking, or indignity against sacred things] will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the [Holy] Spirit will not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit [by attributing the miracles done by Me to Satan] will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. (Matthew 12:31-32)
Believers must never judge anyone with their personal opinion, instead they should focus on the two most important commands of Jesus which gets disobeyed all the time: And Jesus replied to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].’ The whole Law and the [writings of the] Prophets depend on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37, 39-4)
If those commands are not obeyed or we do not obey Jesus other commands we will not enter heaven.
